The Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer Giant produces an impressive e-bike collection year after year. It covers the e-mountain bike, city e-bike and trekking e-bike sectors with several models. Giant has even had an e-road bike model in its range since 2016. So if you can't wait any longer and want to embark on your first e-bike adventure, you are guaranteed to find the right bike in our large Giant e-bike store.
Are you looking for an e-bike but don't yet know which direction to take? No problem. Because when buying an e-bike, as with a “normal” bike, you first have to decide what you want to use your new bike for and which routes you would like to ride. If you want to go off-road, the Giant e-bikes Full-E and Dirt-E are your first choice. The mountain bikes with integrated electric drive rely on Yamaha power and give you a good boost up the mountain. If you like it really steep and dirty downhill, the Full-E offers full suspension as well as an agile and lively riding style just like a real MTB.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for an e-bike for commuting and daily errands in the city, you should take a look at the e-city bikes from Giant. These models also rely on Giant SyncDrive mid-drive motors powered by Yamaha to provide a comfortable drive even on gentle climbs. The battery on the Ciybikes is usually integrated under the luggage rack and is therefore hardly noticeable. The Prime and Twist series also offer a low entry and exit to make dismounting in stressful traffic as comfortable as possible. When it comes to components, Giant always chooses high-quality bike parts from Shimano & Co.
The trekking bikes in the Giant e-bike range represent a compromise between the off-road e-mountainbikes and the pure road e-bikes. Available with a diamond frame for men and a trapezoidal frame for women, the trekking e-bikes offer a sportier riding position as well as a suspension fork with sufficient suspension travel for rough country lanes or gravel tracks. Thanks to their robust frames, the bikes are perfect for long tours, even with a lot of luggage if required. Once again, the Yamaha mid-motor is used, which, thanks to its position directly above the bike's center of gravity, provides a particularly smooth and balanced riding experience. Disc brakes provide ample braking power in all weather conditions and always bring your Giant e-bike to a halt in good time.
The Giant Road-E, a thoroughbred road bike with a battery for the electric motor integrated into the frame, is quite extraordinary. Although you won't be able to compete in the Tour de France with it, this performance-hungry e-bike is ideal for an after-work ride at top speed like no other.
Giant electrifies two of its popular fully platforms and thus offers the E-MTB faction even more choice in the popular 120-160mm travel range. Both bikes were of course inspired by their non-motorized namesake and were modeled on it in terms of geometry, ride feel and intended use. While the Stance E+ with its 130/120mm travel is more likely to appeal to the masses of e-mountain bikers, the Trance E+, especially in the SX version, is a vehicle for the faster downhill faction. While the regular Trance E+ with 150/140mm travel already seems quite potent, the SX has been given a little more trail fun with a steel rear shock and a 160mm fork. Both roll on 2.6” wide 27.5 tires and are extremely stable thanks to the patented Maestro rear suspension system, even on winding trails.
The Fathom platform is also getting an e-update and will be rolling through the terrain as an e-bike from 2019 under the name Fathom E+. The 120 mm hardtail will also have the SyncDrive Pro under the hood
The basis was once again a Yamaha motor, namely the compact PW-X motor. The hardware is completely taken over, but the software is programmed by the Giant developers themselves in order to better adapt the drive to the requirements of the in-house e-bikes. There are five support levels to choose from, with “Power” at the top of the food chain and a whopping 360% support (the regular Yamaha motor only reaches 320%).
Just two years after its market launch, the e-hardtail is receiving its first update. The new model is designed to be more trail-oriented, making it a good alternative for touring riders who don't want to invest too much. Plus tires from Maxxis and a more aggressive geometry are intended to prepare the Dirt-E+ for more demanding terrain. However, as the Dirt-E+ has also sold well as a sporty everyday bike, it has hidden mounting options for a stand, mudguards and pannier rack. Another new feature of the Pro version is the integrated battery, which can be removed from the side.
In contrast, Giant is breaking new ground with the ToughRoad E+ GX, a gravel bike with e-bike power that relies on the old Giant SyncDrive Sport motor and its 80 Nm torque. The aluminum frame is based on the regular ToughRoad and is made of AluxX aluminum, the battery has been semi-integrated. Safe handling, a smooth drive, wide tires and plenty of luggage options make the Toughroad e-bike a real insider tip for adventurers.
